I've just had such a lovely weekend with my good friend Laura from Stone + Armour and Stu...

I know, for those of you who read my personal last post, that's odd right?.. or is it? Because to be totally honest I'm not really sure on the rules after losing someone...

But I'm just going with however I feel when I wake up & this weekend I woke up feeling inspired, energised & incredibly cheesily ready to take on the world one coffee shop at a time...

As mentioned lots on my Facebook & Instagram I live in Nottingham & I am totally in love with how my local town Beeston is beginning to shape up!

On Saturday myself & Laura took it upon ourselves to meet up in a new cafe that has recently opened Greenhood Coffee House and we were VERY pleasantly surprised.

It is stunning! Clean, minimalist, friendly & what's more the owner Rory knew everything & more that there is to know about coffee..

We will definitely be returning!

Copper utensils? Come on.. I was sold at that alone!! ;)

We then stuck with our Saturday tradition of rummaging through the local charity shops, I didn't get any clothes for the first time in ages but I picked up these lovely vintage Kilner jars from
Sue Ryder I love how they compliment my fab concrete & copper candle holders from Nottingham based creative Beauty in Brutal

Oh and a trip to Beeston always results in fresh flowers from the market in the square :)

So that was Saturday & what a blummin' lovely day it was too.

Sunday pretty much became a repeat performance, but this time with Stu & we ventured into town for a spot of holiday shopping before the big trip to America next week!

I don't think he knows I've put the below pic on here, so hey, it's a good job he doesn't read my blog! ;) we were testing out the timer on my camera haha..

So our first stop was Wired Cafe Bar in Nottingham city centre, Stu had been saying all morning that he was craving one of their bacon sandwiches, so that's exactly what we did..

& he was right to crave it too as it was dee-liiisssh--ussss!

Rory from Greenhood Coffee House mentioned that he is a big fan of this place & I can see why - they too had a lovely simple, not too try-hard atmosphere & it was quite obvious they knew a thing or two about their coffee too..

We then hit the shops & by the point I took the below pic, I was quite bored of menswear shopping (I told Stu I was being good & not shopping but ssssh what I really meant was that I've done it all online!)

A sales assistant laughed at me when I took this pic, not going to lie, I wanted the floor to eat me up whole.

.... After all the shopping was done (ha, who am I kidding, it's never 'done!') we nipped into 200 Degrees Coffee another bangin' coffee heaven in town for a quick break..

This place has a barista school upstairs & some of the yummiest looking cakes, I went with a freshly squeezed lemonade with lychee.. Yes, it was every bit as amazing as it sounds!

Check out theeese beauties for a naughty but nice treat! Yum!

So there you go, I pretty much coffee crawled around Nottingham this weekend but it was just lovely & exactly what I needed..

How lucky to have these places on my doorstep, I think I'll be a regular in all 3 so maybe see you in there next time :)

I'm kind of over it I think..

I've had a few people ask me why I haven't blogged in a while and to be totally honest, my answer has been like a stuck recording of 'I'm kind of over it I think..'

But I'm not, I'm not over it at all, in fact I'm craving writing more than ever but I just haven't had the heart to sit at a computer & talk about an upcoming trend, a new brand or an opening of a restaurant for weeks, if anything it riddles me with guilt that I'm still discovering & appreciating these things in life - when all I want to do is write 'I'm losing my grandad and I can't physically concentrate on anything else, please bare with me.'

I've never lost anybody before, I've seen friends go through it and always sympathised and been there for them - but I never truly understood how it felt, until now.

I'm writing this on my mobile, with my left hand, whilst sat by his bedside & holding his hand in my right - I'm sure he'll be thinking 'she's always on her phone that one!' Like he would normally say to me with a cheeky wink. Mum & I have just cut his nails & he looks beautiful.

So without this turning into 'one of those posts' and believe me I'm not doing it for sympathy - I just had an urge to write on here - but for the time being, not about my new shirt dress from Topshop, although between you & I.. It is pretty fabulous!

Festival Style

Hey there lovelies,

Now I probably shouldn't be writing this post as I have only actually been to a handful of festivals in my life - & there will certainly be some pro-festival-stylers out there!
However, just because I haven't been to many doesn't mean I haven't cried into my cornflakes like others when lusting over the outfits!

I guess it goes back to the days of Kate Moss and Sienna Miller when I first fell in love with the boho/festival styling - we all remember the infamous coin-belts right?

and the layering of waistcoats over everything possible?

Oh and how could I forget the love for All Saints military boots!!??

I don't personally think festival style has moved on much since if I'm honest, outcomes the fringing, the cowboy boots, ditsy prints and the daisy duke shorts every..single.. year.

Each time the retailers describing it as 'new style' and revolutionary to the fashion industry - maybe this is an age thing and I've finally caught onto the fact that I MUST keep ALL clothes through my life (much to Stu's dismay!) as they always come back round again - apart from tulle skirts and trainers, please, never let me go down that rabbit hole again!

If you have seen my YouTube video you will have seen that I am lucky enough to say I am going to Chicago & Miami this summer, I'm craazzyy excited & whilst we are there will be going to Lollapalooza Festival.

So of course, I've started planning my outfits waaayyy in advance! I wanted to share some of the pieces I've either bought or got my eye on for next payday... hope you like!

I love this Boohoo Aztec Jumpsuit & at only £20 I just couldn't resist buying it. I really struggle with plunge style tops as I'm short in the body but I'm hoping with a tweak & some (alot of!) tape it will work

- I love the vibrant print & think it will look fab teamed with this necklace from Topshop..

So one of the huuuuge trends this year is gladiator sandals & I told myself not to get involved as I wore them as a teenager (That whole am I too old situation again!) but after seeing so many people look AMAZING in them I just couldn't resist & bought these beauties from Topshop - they were on my feet & featured on my www.instagram.com/cordelia_hearts before the postman made it off the drive!!

I'm planning on wearing them with a dress like this one - I've not bought one yet, but I've got my eye on a few - this one from Asos is quite plain but I love it! ASOS BA&SH Dress - mind you, it is £150 so I might have to start saving for it!

I am loving overalls/dungarees at the minute too & just had to buy these black ones, again from Boohoo.com - £35 I'm planning on representing Cordelia & wearing my 'LIKE A MOSS' tshirt underneath in white with gold writing.

There's absolutely LOADS more that I have my eye on but I'm absolutely living a champagne lifestyle on a lemonade salary this week & I got paid 2 days ago!! Nightmare!

Oh, what a Shabbylicious afternoon!

Hey there you lovely lot!

Thanks for coming back.. It's not been toooo long since my last post, but as always I do feel the need to start with 'sorry I've not posted in a while!'

I wanted to write about something a little different for you, moving away slightly from a fashiony/buy me kinda' posts but more about a lovely afternoon I had recently celebrating one of my favourite people, Frankie Hunter's, Baby Shower..

Steph got arty with the wrapping of our present - using flowers from a wedding she was bridesmaid at the day before! Crafty-pants! :)

I know I talk about Nottingham a lot on my Facebook page, but that's because I truly love where I live & in particular the local little shops & cafes that it has to offer! Which leads me to the beautiful Shabbylicious Vintage Tea Rooms in Stapleford, Nottingham, where Frankie's baby shower was held last week - it was simply adorable!

On a normal visiting day you can expect to find this kind of layout which is just perfect for an afternoon catch-up with friends and family - they are open around 10am-4pm most days and offer a brunch & light bite menus to choose from..

...However on Sunday 22nd March the Richmond family had other plans & turned it into a shrine for 'Baby Hunter' :)

..the atmosphere was so relaxed and they even had a record player playing old vinyl's in the corner which really set the vintage vibe perfectly.. but let me get to my favourite part of the day..

Check out the spreeeaaddd!! I honestly didn't know where to start! The very lovely Rebecca Ashworth and team at Shabbylicious really did smash our expectations with some of the scrumptious food that they made specially, from homemade lemon cake to rosewater macaroons! I was in my element! (look at all my exclamation marks of enthusiasm in this paragraph!!)

We drank prosecco out of teacups..

We played guess the bump size.. (which I miserably over-estimated!)

And Frankie got her bump painted by the fabulous India with her main baby-craving, Nutella!

One of the best things about Shabbylicious is, you could be drinking from a teacup and think 'ooh this is pretty' or sitting at a table & think 'this would look great in my kitchen!' and guess what - it literally can! Because nearly everything in the shop is available to purchase, if it doesn't have a 'not for sale' sticker on it, then it's yours for a small fee! How fab is that!?

Shabbylicious are in the process of getting their online shop up and running but if you pop over to their website www.shabbyliciousvintagetearooms.co.uk you will be able to read lots more about them - but believe me, you really need to pop in to get the true feeling of this little gem! This bird feeder has to be one of my cutest finds, what a perfect present starting from £20!

I stopped the guys mid prosecco-pouring to take this quick pic of the lovely team because they looked as fabulous as their shop & I l just love that they were dressed in vintage too..

I know from talking to the girls, and of course Frankie, that everyone had the most perfect day which was also fantastic value for money - (Shabbylicious Pricing) I'm already thinking about who can have their celebration their next!

Thanks again to Rebecca and the team, I couldn't recommend your Tea Room enough which I know will be a huge success just like your family businesses before you :)

and Frankie (and James of course!)... We can't wait to meet Baby Hunter! <3

Why hello there! It's been a while hasn't it! :( My head has been so wrapped up in my birthday celebrations and my 'real-life' job for the last month that my blog has totally side-lined.. but I've pulled my finger out and I'm getting back on it again! :)

So, everyone who knows me, or follows my Instagram will know that I have an undying love for anything rose gold or copper, it's been going on for a couple of years now & it doesn't seem to be going anywhere!

Well it was inevitable that this crush would move on to home-ware too so I thought I'd do a little blog about some pieces I love.

The above pic is some of personal favourite rose gold items in my wardrobe..

Whether it be something you can wear or something for the home, I hope you see something that inspires you...

I absolutely LOVE these copper pendant lights, Stu & I are in the process of buying a house & we are committed to ensuring that these beauties feature in our house somewhere, I'm thinking in the kitchen depending on the size. They are from County Lighting which can be found via this link on notonthehighstreet.com. They aren't cheap at £95 but I think they will make a fabulous statement item in our home.

These candle jars are tooooo cute! They would work in literally any room of the house, I think something like this could work well on a bathroom windowsill to add a bit of warmth - I'm now daydreaming about lying in a bath with these lit, bliss.

These particular ones are by Little Pearl Button, again from notonthehighstreet.com and available via that link for £15.

I'm thinking that they could be a sweet little DIY project too,The Gift of Creativity sell copper paint for glass super cheap - I'd love to see if this is something you attempt, tag me on Instagram with #cordeliahearts if you do :)

One of my favourite websites for homeware is MADE, they are a fab company based in Soho, London and do the most amazing pieces at really affordable prices - this clock is only £29! I love the simplicity of it.. and of course, the copper edging! :)

Moving away from home-ware, I actually talked about this lovely brand 'Lisa Angel' on My Birthday Video and thought I'd share them here too as they have some lovely rose gold pieces..

This is one of my go-to nail varnishes by Essie, as I work at Boots I am always picking up one of these badboys on my lunch break, they are addictive & I'll be the first to admit that I have far too many! I tend to put a pink nail-varnish on first and then the gold over the top to give it a rose-gold tint.

You may have seen on my Instagram recently that I had the absolute pleasure (& total fan girl moment) in meeting Sam & Nic Chapman from Pixiwoo, they were so lovely & I have since become even more into their beauty brand Real Techniques & their YouTube channel where I pick up lots of make-up tips. I don't tend to do many home style posts but I think this might change as we are currently in the process of buying our first home.. eek!! So I think I'll be doing lots of decor research in the future.
