Ways to wear a classic trench coat

I can't even tell you how many times I've bought a trench coat and then returned it thinking 'I don't think I'll wear it that much'.. & can you guess how many times I've regretted returning it to the shop? EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

What's wrong with me? They are quite obviously a staple piece for not just fashionistas everywhere, even my Grandad owned a classic Burberry! (What a guy <3)

The trench as been revived the last couple of years from bloggers across the globe teaming them with everything from trainers to fur lined loafers (Can we just talk about how much I need a pair of Gucci Princetown Leather Slippers in my life)

Think less Del-Boy & more Kate & Cara.

Here are some of my most favourite looks...

......and so the trench obsession starts again.

How do you wear yours? (sounds like a creme egg advert)... tag me on instagram @cordelia_hearts or post a pic to my Facebook (Cordelia Hearts) - I'd love to see & get inspired by how you style it!

The day Two Little Magpies arrived in Beeston

Hello there lovelies,

What a fabulous Saturday I've just had, so much so that I needed to jump straight in & tell you all about it before Sunday even arrives!
Now, for those of you that have been following some time now will know that I'm a bit of a Nottingham advocate, I'm so proud of living here & I try to keep on top of any new shops/brands that open up in the area... so can you imagine my excitement when I found out that one was opening up quite literally at the end of my street?!  Oh. The. Joy.

Two Little Magpies opened their doors to Beeston this morning & there was definitely a buzz in the air about their arrival - somethings changed in the space of a year for our little town & it's such an exciting time to be part of it. Shoppers, crafters, creators & window shoppers were all intrigued & at not one point was there just myself & my pal Laura in the shop, there were even people queuing to buy things... Ah-may-zing times.

So I thought I'd treat you to a little inside look on what Two Little Magpies has to offer, I'm so proud that in the next couple of weeks my Cordelia t-shirts will also be displayed on these shelves (eek!) but sadly not in time for the grand opening..
For now, you get to feast your eyes on the likes of Oh Cut it Out, Mollys Mum, Sauce & Brown, Letterbox Lane, Stitches & Stars & Hope the Black Dog and SO many more, infact over THIRTY more local designers!... My oh my, what a beautiful bunch all under one roof!

I should also let you know at this point, that this isn't just a shop.. oh no.. at the back is a studio where Lucy (Two Little Magpies owner) is going to hold craft events & jewellery making courses. I think I'm going to be a regular & get all protective over having my own seat & stuff ;)

I bought these Hope the Black Dog embroideries to hang on my wall within SECONDS of being in the shop! AUP PAL! Bloody brilliant.

Love these Stitches & Stars notebooks, they do the cutest badges too.

Fab displays for the Oh Cut It Out cards

A little bit in love with these Alibee Wares prints <3
Beautiful handmade beads from Mollys Mum

This Robert De Niro quote was one of my fave things in the shop & I can't for the life of me remember the brand :( Does anyone know? It sits perfectly next to this Letterbox Lane plate

Loving the Sauce and Brown tees, really hope mine sit nicely next to theirs ;)
(Another fab Hope The Black Dog embroidery- TA)

My pal Laura from Stone + Armour admiring the cards..

I'm already planning on going back to pick up a
Black Acres Soap Factory sticky toffee pudding candle!!

This jewellery from one & eight was probably one of my favourite finds! So delicate & pretty.. Need. in. my. life.

These earrings from Innabox were tooooo sweet aswel!
Seriously, how great is this calendar to from Craftly
to help teach your children days, weeks & months?! Genius!
The cutest mosaic designs from Lily Mosaics (picture taken from their Facebook page)

No craft/gift shop is complete without abit of Hello Sunshine jewellery!

Just fell in love with these Mollys Mum handmade clouds -
you can have them personalised with anything you like!

Truth.

Have you ever googled 'Creepy Little Weirdo' to try & find a brand??
DON'T. Some weird s**t comes up!

Laura admiring the window display..

(See that shop with the number 7 on it? That used to be Pink & Lilly, the shop I often mention that I opened with my friend Caroline 8 years ago. I wish we'd had Two Little Magpies on our street back then!)
They even sell dog clothes from Kool K9s!!
A bit of something for everyone..
..And here she is, the woman of the moment, Lucy, the fabulous owner of Two Little Magpies -
That smile sums up how she's feeling I'm sure! :)

Service with a smile... coz I'm pretty sure they know they've got a customer for life with me.
This is going to be dangerous for my bank balance....

Oh how I bloody love Beeston.. and this guy.. The Beeman <3

Let me know if you take a visit, I'd love to see what you buy - tag me on instagram @cordelia_hearts so I can take a peek..

The dark side... Dark decor style bloggers / Farrow & Ball

Like most, I'm totally in love with dark walls when it comes to home decor - you can't even go on Instagram at the minute without seeing someone's dark hued homes courtesy of Farrow & Ball.

I'm thinking the living room is where I'm going to go for it, but more of a navy than a grey as I went for grey tones in the Dining room... But I'm scared of losing the statement that we get from our fireplace & the mantle feature.. What do you think? Do you think stick with white because of the contrast? Or go for it? hmmm...

I have 3 'go-to' interior bloggers on instagram who's homes I'm a little obsessed with, I don't go anywhere near instagram without checking out their feeds because nothing I ever actually want to see appears on my feed.. thanks for that instagram-warriors, and I've even turned on my post notifications for them so I get notified of when they post..

I'm pretty sure at least one of these pics will inspire you, they literally get my heart racing!

Firstly, the fabulous @KerryLockwood_, this isn't the first time I've mentioned Kerry on my blog & I'm pretty sure it won't be my last! She was the first person who properly introduced me to the dark side & I stumbled across her after she commented on a pic that one of my favourite homeware companies Rockett St George posted, within seconds I was literally spamming her account & had already decided that I was going to copy her living room (sorry Kerry, I hope that doesn't bother you too much ;) )
Here are just a sample of pics from Kerry's instagram account... it's obvious to see why it's up there with my favourite right? Kerry has VERY recently, (I'm talking this week!) launched her website www.kerrylockwoodindetail.co.uk where she offers an interior styling service - send her a pic of the room you want to transform & using the power of the internet she will work her magic even down to the measurements 'pushing your boundaries and taking your space to the next level'

Gah, it's too much, I just want to decorate NOW!!

The next person I discovered & the obsession started once again was with Kate at @overatkates, I actually think I found her account from one of those regular mornings where I stalk Kerry (Stalk, in the nicest sense of the word!) & then they did a '#WIDN' ('What I'm Doing Now' basically where instagrammers ask what each other are upto & it introduces other people to new accounts.. it clearly works too! ;) )
I got chatting to Kate & turns out she's blummin' lovely too... she offers similar style guidance to what Kerry does & I'd say her style has more of a vintage take on the dark, have a peek at her Easter table - super cute! You can contact her at info@overatkates.com and pop over to http://overatkates.com for more amazing styling advice.

I know right. Absolutely stunning. (that last pic is hilarious to me as it's like looking at my house, I didn't even know Kate had this rug from H&M then I saw it on her account, I think her style is clearly rubbing off on me!)

Are you feeling inspired yet? I'm literally gagging to go online & buy stuff to faff with!

The next interior stylist/blogger I have the pleasure of stalking is the fabulous Emilie from @stellaandthestars- I just love this blog which is beautifully named after Emilie's cuuuute daughter, Stella. (Yes, even names her daughter one of my favourite names... I knew I was a fan the second I found that out ;) )

I stumbled across Emilie's account after reading about her home in Style at Home Magazine. I was attracted to her home in a different way to the others, she used colour in a way that I hadn't seen or appreciated before.. I was mesmerised by her pink velvet sofa in her office & of course, her PRADA Marfa sign was immediately at the top of my 'need in my life' list (click here to read all about the story behind this print & where Emilia bought it from - come back though! Haha) & I instantly took to Instagram to hunt her down... I'm beginning to sound like a mentalist aren't I :/ I think you'll love her home as much as I do so I'll just shut up now & show you some pics...

Oh, & one more thing.. On Emilie's blog, she shares where she discovers her amazing purchases, this is not going to be good for my bank balance!! http://www.stellaandthestars.net/la-boutique/

Recognise that print? @theloftandus hehe... you can buy it here

The gorgeous Stella always makes an appearance on the StellaAndTheStars feed <3

So, there you have it... I've probably ruined any illusions that my home style was my own, because I clearly just copy these 3 gals! But hey ho, I'm not ashamed to admit that I need a helping hand, especially when their homes look THIS good.

I'd love for you to pop over to their insta feeds/blogs & let them know I sent you their way - share the love and all that <3

Have you gone over to the dark side yet? I'd love to see! Tag me in your Insta pics so I can take a peek :) (@cordelia_hearts)
